A collective approach to promoting the Paris Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport area
Airports and surrounding areas are key drivers for economic development. The convenience of worldwide access through airports makes airport platforms an ideal location for international businesses to set up. In order for an airport platform to profit from its hub status it needs to first have enough demand for air travel, be located in an ideal geographical location and have top-of-the-line infrastructure to adequately handle passengers and freight.
Major players of the Paris Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport and surrounding areas known as the “Greater Roissy” realized the potential for this area to become a major airport hub. Fun fact: the Paris Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport is located on the epicenter of three different French departments (Val d’Oise, Seine-Saint-Denis and Seine-et-Marne). In response to the large number of players involved in the decision-making for promoting the area, including over twenty private and institutional players, a collective approach was established. Since June 2009, the Hubstart Paris initiative promotes the hub status of the Paris Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport and the Greater Roissy with one, unified message.
Last month, Hubstart Paris released this new video providing a thorough overview of the Greater Roissy along with key figures:
